We have spent enough time learning Western painting since its arrival in the Meiji period,
but it's about time for us to create our own contemporary art rooted in Japanese culture.
Systema Gallery introduces artists create works that express the culture and spirit of Japan while resonating with contemporary world.
Under the concept of〈NEJA-ism〉Neo-Japonism Art, transcends the boundaries of traditional painting and stands apart from Western art, having a unique presence. Materials such as Japanese paper, wood, glass, and ceramics, as well as the spirit of Zen and mysticism, evoke a uniquely Japanese aesthetic in the viewer.
明治に西洋絵画が日本に到来して以来、十分な時間をその習得に費やしてきましたが、そろそろ、我々自身の、日本という国を、日本の文化をベースにした、現代絵画というものを作り出していっても、よい時期ではないかと思います。
私たちのギャラリーは、きわめて日本的な文化や技法を色濃く表現するアーテイストたちを扱い、ヨーロッパにも、アメリカにも対峙して、遜色のない、伝統日本絵画でもない、ニッポン-コンテンポラリー、＜NEJA-iｓｍ> というものを世界にアピールしてゆくことを、そのコンセプトとしています。
