Hakuseki Iwai
岩井博石
刻む、を、一貫して表現方法とする作風で、その見つめる目は優しい。
代表的な作風は、桂の木に彫刻刀で刻む、日本古来の版木のようないた面を、刷ることなく版木その元する作風で、その、精緻さ濃密さは篆刻によって磨かれた技術の上に成立している。
Concept
Born in 1965, Osaka
He started to learn western paintings in 1985. From 1985 he learned Japanese calligraphy and sculptures, since then, he submitted his paintings and sculptures to exhibitions and contests. His sculptures are submitted to foreign countries mainly and in 1987 won the great prize from the global art exhibition held in the UK. In 2003, his monument was exhibited in the Japan-China Friendship Calligraphy Monument Museum in Guilin. In 2004 his sculpture artworks (named;山花水鳥皆知己) housed the British Museum in London. From 2017, he showed 'serration' artworks at the systema gallery. 'Serration' means he sculptures on a thin wooden board with a carving knife, like painting a campus with a writing brush. He curves his image in his mind without a rough sketch on the wooden board made from a 'katsura tree' (Japanese Judas tree) that is suitable for Minute sculpture. Therefore, there are no similar works. He puts mind to each one curve in order to create minute lines. His main artworks 'mother and infant', 'family', and 'couple' express 'philanthropy' in curving which is universal action. Besides, 'flower' and 'Mt. Fuji' express Japanese symbols. He keeps curving in order to express his various thoughts.
この世に[ 生 ]を受けた全ての[ モノ]を安直な物語性を排し、 限られた色彩の中で、いかに画面に定着出来るかと苦闘の日々 です。「ひと」や身の回りで目にする「花」「大根」「かぼちゃ」 などのモチーフに命を宿らせるが如く画面に線を刻み込んでいく。 その[モノ]の存在を表出すべく制作しております。
